Chiesi CEE itself does not engage in research activities, preferring instead to rely on the recognized global expertise in this field of its parent company with its strong commitment to research and development.
Given that innovation is the best medicine, Chiesi Farmaceutici S.p.A. employs doctors, pharmacologists, chemists, health economists and technical personnel at its own research centers in Parma (Italy), Paris (France) and the Rockville (USA) as well as at production facilities in Italy, France and Brazil, all engaged in developing and manufacturing promising drugs to improve patient care. Their activities range from development work, pre-clinical and clinical trials to regulatory filings, marketing authorizations and product launches. In 2008 a new research center was set up in record time in Chippenham (UK). This centre aims to bring innovative solutions to the pressurised aerosol field by studying the phenomenon of atomisation.
In 2009 alone, the Chiesi Group invested 132,6 million euro (15,2 % of total turnover) in research activities.
