Bisphosphonates are efficacious drugs, that effect the metabolism of calcium and the balance between osteoblasts and osteoclasts. Therefore they are indicated in treatment of tumor-induced bone metastases (breast carcinoma, prostate carcinoma and multiple myeloma).
