As a B Corp in the biopharmaceutical industry, Chiesi is among the companies leading a global movement towards an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy. This is an achievement we can be proud of, and yet one that feels entirely natural: caring for others is the foundation of our commitment to healthcare and has always been at the heart of our work.

Our commitment for sustainability

Whilst sustainability has always been important to Chiesi, it is now an integral part of our strategic plan. This means we are committed to improving patients’ quality of life, protecting the planet and its inhabitants, supporting our communities, fostering the development of our employees, and ensuring transparency in our work.

As part of this process, we have decided to become a Benefit Corporation, an innovative legal structure that enables us to pursue a dual purpose: not only to create value for our shareholders, but also to serve the public good. Internally, we have launched the sustainability programme “We Act – Actively Care for Tomorrow”, which has engaged the entire Chiesi workforce in coordinated efforts.

A global effort

Our B Corp certification, which we received in 2019, is a testament to our global commitment. Since 2018, all our subsidiaries have been carrying out self-assessments and continuous improvement processes, which led to the renewal of our certification in 2022 and 2025. This process has enabled us to identify and implement best practices across our global network.

What is a B Corp?

B Corps are companies that balance profit with purpose and meet verified standards for social and environmental business practices.

The B Corp movement comprises over 10,600 companies in 104 countries, all united by the common goal of using business as a force for good.
